We have signed up for the Yamaha Piano Performance Grade 5 today at RM310 each. Teacher R is not too convinced on our ability to take the exam especially for B & YT but nevertheless, both of us are going to work hard the next few months. The exam is scheduled for 8-10 June 2010 and there are 3 sections (subject) to performance grade :
Improvisation - Variation (20) and Motif (20)
Sight Playing (20)
Repertoire - 2 Compulsory Pieces & 3 Free Selection (40)
Pass Mark - at least 50 % in each subject and 75 points in total must be obtained to pass.
For our Fundamental Grade (obtained in July 2009) - 446 & 414 (5 subjects)
Pass Mark - at least 60 points in each subject and 375 points in total must be obtained to pass.
