Just received a letter from MPYO for the cello audition in KL on 02 July 2010 (Fri), which was later rescheduled to 3.00PM. Ever since i submitted the application form a month ago, i have been waiting for the opportunity to go for this audition. This is really exciting.
They have also enclosed copies of 6 orchestral excerpts (5 subsequently) for me to work on together with my 2 own pieces which should be contrasting in styles to reflect musical and technical ability for the audition. Both pieces are to be performed without accompaniment and should be no longer than 6 minutes.
I shall be looking forward to this very much but i am sure the audition at MPYO being the national youth orchestra will be very different and more demanding as compared to that of pessoc.
