It has been a busy 2 weeks with the additional orchestra practices in preparation for the TYT Concert Utama scheduled on 17 Oct, the 2 extra practices on Sunday afternoons and an extended hour from 7PM on Friday. I suspect there will be more to come when Mr David Wen arrives in Penang later this week. It will be good to see him again since our trip to LA. Generally, practices are fun and as it gains momentum, one can actually feel the pulse of the entire orchestra reaching a cresendo. Its exciting to see every musician pushing their capabilities in order to capture the flow of the music and to perfect each and every one of those individual notes.
The highlight of the concert will be a piece called the Butterfly Lovers Concerto, a piece which is meant for a violin solo, but lo and behold, there will be a lady professor in double bass, all the way from US to perform for us this concerto with the double bass. So, come and share in this evening of classical concert with a difference.
