ATCL Piano Recital 2010

YES, the results are out - Teacher R called and ... a score of 96/100. This was exactly how he put it: The marks I've got for ATCL is just crazy. Reason : No one has scored this high before :)

Examiner's Comments : This was a recital marked by a very high level of technical accomplishment and a most mature and intelligent musical outlook. The result was a programe of convincing interpretations communicated most effectively. All five of the composers were revealed in both a sympathetic and authoritative light, with Brahms coming off best of all in a performance of real poise and stylistic integrity. Technique 29, musical sense 29 and communication 28 with presentation skills 10.

The 5 pieces :
1. Scarlatti - Sonata in E minor, K263, L321 & Sonata in E major, K264, L466
2. Haydn - Sonta in B minor, I Allegro Moderato, II Minuet, III Presto
3. Brahms - Intermezzo in A major, Op.118, No. 2
4. Debussy - La cathèdrale engloutie (The Sunken Cathedral)
5. Sculthorpe - Mountains
