The last group, Group H completed the group stage matches this morning and the 16 teams now advance into Stage 2 which is a knockout stage. Italy and France (both finalist for world cup 2006) ended 2010 as the bottom team in their respective group. South Korea and Japan were the 2 asian teams which qualified for Stage 2.
Starting tonight (Sat 26 June) will be matches for the 16 teams. Preliminary guess for teams entering the quarter final stage are : Uruguay, Argentina, USA (Ghana), Germany, Netherlands, Japan (Paraguay), Brazil and Spain. It will be good if Japan can make it to represent asia in the last 8.
Most probable line up for semis : Uruguay and Brazil (Holland) for semis 1 and Germany and Spain for semis 2. Let's see how it goes!
Brazil will be the venue for the next world cup in the year 2014, last hosted FIFA's flagship event in 1950.
